Recommendations for Voters on Election Day

Practice Health Behaviors:

  • Wash hands before entering and after leaving the polling location
  • Use hand sanitizer in the polling location
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your elbow
  • Wear a cloth face covering
    • Children under 2 and anyone who has trouble breathing, is incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the face covering without assistance should not wear a cloth face covering.
  • Maintain at least 6 feet of distance from others
  • Avoid crowds
    • Vote at off peak times
    • Monitor the voter line from your car and join it when its shorter
  • Be Prepared
    • Make sure you have correct documents to avoid delays such as photo id
    • Review a sample ballot at home to speed the process of casting your ballot at the polling location
    • Bring your own black ink pen
    • Try to limit the number of people with you in the polling place
