Services for the Elderly Services Update

HIAWATHA SENIOR CITIZENS CENTER IS REOPENING!

New hours for the Hiawatha Center will be Wednesday’s and Thursday’s 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. starting June 17!!!

The Hiawatha Senior Citizens Center will reopen with their normal Wednesday meals on that day, and please remember that reservations must still be made prior to noon on Tuesday by calling 742-6282.

It is on the advice of the Hiawatha Senior Citizens Center Activities Director that for maintaining the health and safety of the patrons that anyone going into the center for senior activities must wear a facial covering. When meals are being served, social distancing must be maintained. This advice has been approved by the Services for the Elderly Director, and the Chairman of the Brown County Commissioners.

Please be patient with us as we're all trying to do our best in keeping everyone safe and healthy at the Hiawatha Senior Center!
 

HIAWATHA AND HORTON TAXI SERVICE REOPENS ON JUNE 1, 2020

The Hiawatha and Horton Taxi’s will reopen on Monday, June 1, 2020 with the following precautions in place:

       Face coverings are required for all passengers!

  • Drivers are required to wear face coverings and gloves at all times
  • Only one person in the morning and one person in the afternoon will be scheduled to ride.
  • The taxi will remain in the parking lot where the passenger is visiting so that when the passenger is ready to go, there will be no waiting for him/her to leave.
  • All passengers will ride in the back of the taxi.
  • All passengers will need to be home ½ hour before taxi quitting time so driver will have sufficient time to clean and disinfect taxi.
  • If the driver feels that there is a question on if you’re healthy enough to ride, you will be asked to reschedule your  appointment.

Please be patient as this all new to us also, and we’re doing the best we can to maintain the safety for everyone!
